Prologue:
As you may have already known, Apple has launched macOS Sierra 10.12.4 and introduced a new file system – APFS.
Apple File System is available in macOS Sierra, but with numerous limitations and is considered experimental.
Among the limitations:
- Drives formatted with Sierra’s version of APFS may not be compatible with future versions of macOS nor the final version of APFS;
- The only option currently available for APFS is a case sensitive filesystem;
- APFS cannot be used with Time Machine, FileVault encryption, or Fusion drives.
Question:
Will Paragon HFS+ for Windows be able to handle APFS after the file system’s changed?
Answer:
No. HFS+ for Windows is not able to operate with APFS-formatted disks and drives.
A separate software, like Paragon APFS for Windows is not planned yet.
After file system conversion you will not be able to read APFS-formatted drives, like MacHD partition (native Mac partition).
However, any other HFS+ formatted drive will mount and operate in Windows using HFS+ for Windows software no problem.
